Releasing hardware with digital recall is very much welcomed by the audio community. I know myself how beneficial it is for workflow purposes. It does however throw up some issues when releasing your first product that over time need to be ironed out with beta testing. Thankfully Cranborne Audio have worked hard to address these issues almost instantly and now deliver us version 0.4.2 of their Carnaby HE2 control plugin. I first saw this update at Gearfest 2024 and after talking about it with the guys at Cranborne Audio I was pleased to hear the changes in this update address any and all concerns I had with the previous update.
Brightness Control: Anyone that owns a HE2 will have noticed when turning using the EQ that the lights are extremely bright. So much so that if you look at the EQ for a long period of time and then look away you can still see the lights burnt into your retinas. Version 0.4.2 now includes a brightness control. I will to set mine at around 15%. This feature can be accessed in the bottom right corner by clicking the settings cog.
Auto Connect: This is the main feature I am please to see added. Auto connect allows the HE2 to auto connect with the software. By having auto connect selected, upon opening your session the plugin will recall the hardware automatically.
