The Ex Machina Arcturus monitors have arrived and installed into the Audio Animals new stereo and Dolby Atmos mastering studio. The Arcturus speakers are due to release on the 1st of August 2023. We have had the pleasure of having them installed in our studio 3 months prior to release. Today the 1st of July 2023 we are finally able to show off our studio and show you the amazing Ex Machina Arcturus speakers in all their glory. We are proud to have the first pair in the world and be at the forefront of leading the way, to what we consider to be the best speakers money can buy.
There is very little information at the moment on the Ex Machina Arcturus speakers as they aren’t yet officially released. What we can tell you is they are priced at around £28,000 for the pair and this could potentially change on release. But you will be looking at around this price.
The speakers themselves have 2 10″ subs which kick like a mule. Some serious air is moved by these subs. It’s quite astonishing. The mid range and tweeter I am told is an updated version to what is found in the Pulsar and Quasar but please don’t quote me on this. I will update all this information when Ex Machina release the speakers and some documentation is available.
Something to note is that the amps are external and are not built into the speaker. This is really good as they do not get hot when mounted into the wall.
The connection to the speakers are 1x 4 pole speakon cable for the mid range and tweeter and 2x 2 pole speakon cable for the subs.
The Ex Machina Arcturus arrived in the UK well packaged on a crate. As you can imagine these are heavy speakers and required careful shipping.
SX Pro personally brought the speakers down to us and helped bring them into the studio ready to be installed. They always go above and beyond to supply the best personal service.
We unwrapped the speakers before bringing them in, to ensure we could get them through the doorway and along the corridors. As you can see they are really well packaged.
Here we have studio ready for the Arcturus speakers to be slid into place. They fit really well and was really easy to manoeuvre. The fact they don’t have the amps built into them, means they are considerably lighter than if they had amps inside.
Now installed you can see how well the speakers sit in the wall. The best thing about the Ex Machina Arcturus speakers in a Dolby Atmos system is that the subs can be used for bass management. This means that the Titan speakers can be used to with the Arcturus subs to give you what is essentially another 8 Arcturus speakers in the surround and ceiling.
