In this article I will teach you my top 5 tips on how to get plugins cheap in deals or even free. I own almost every plugin and VST instrument the industry has to offer by following these simple tips.
1. Plugin Boutique Deals – Every day I check Plugin Boutique for deals. They have some really good deals that last the month and many of which are exclusive to Plugin Boutique. Visit the deals page here. Each month plugin Boutique give away a free plugin or instrument with every purchase. This month you get Iris 2 by Izotope (RRP £129.99) completely free with any purchase. More info on this click here.
2. Review Plugins – I review a number of plugins each week in my spare time. I often get sent plugins and instruments free to test and review. I get the software free in exchange for the review and video posted on Youtube and as a news article on my website. Sometimes I will receive the product earlier than the general public to beta test. Anyone can do this. Contact a company ask if they need someone to review or test their product. If they see you as having a big enough social media following and able to sell units based on your review they most likely will give you the software for free.
3. Sign Up To Mailing Lists – I have a separate email to my business email that is solely for email sign ups. I check this every morning when I get into work as companies will often do a 24 hour flash sale deal for something ridiculous like 90% off. Checking daily ensures you never miss a deal and can pick up £100 plugins for £10 roughly twice a week.
4. Google Search – Yeah obvious I know but trust me the amount of times I have seen a product 50% off in one store then searched online for that product and the exact same product I found it at 80% off in another store. Always search for a better deal or even a coupon code for 10% or 20% off on top of the deal price.
5. Facebook Groups – On Facebook I have joined lots of different groups that are strictly based around the listing of plugins and instruments that are on sale. The best one is called “Audio Plugin Sales, Deals and Freebies – VST/AAX/AU/RE and Sample Libraries” I subscribe to their notifications and see them daily on my news feed. I often see deals here that are quite exclusive and not found elsewhere.
