VST INSTRUMENT
The VST instrument is compatible on the latest OS for mac and windows. Using the VST you can load any of the 12 instrument banks that will trigger up to 48 hits per bank. A total of 438 unique hits can be triggered using the VST instrument.
VST instrument parameters include ADSR, HP filter, reverb, drive, delay, tune, pan and volume. Using the VST you can adjust these parameters to create a multitude of unique and interesting sounds.
7 UNIQUE HIT POINTS
Each cymbal position is recorded in either 7 or 5 unique hit points. Hit points start on the bell and make their way out to the edge of the cymbal. Recording in this manner ensures every possible hit type is cover across the entire cymbal.
HI-HAT PEDAL POSITIONS
Each cymbal has been recorded in 5 different foot pedal positions. Positions include closed, closed sizzle, half sizzle, full sizzle and open closed. Closed achieves a tight rata tat tat type hi-hat sound. Whilst the closed sizzle achieves a similar but slightly looser sound with more release to each hit. Half sizzle has a gentle release, where as full sizzle has a long clanging type of release. Open closed hits fully ring out until the key is let go of.
SIZZLE CHAIN HITS
All 4 different cymbal types have been recorded with 5 unique sizzle chain hits. Sizzle chain hits are very different from your standard full cymbal hit. They are recorded with a chain laid on the top of the cymbal. This results in a cymbal hit that rattles and has a sizzle to it.
4 UNIQUE STICK TYPES
Each cymbal has been recorded using 4 unique stick types. Stick types include wood stick, plastic stick, wood mallet and nylon mallet. Wood stick hits achieve a classic drum hit sound, while plastic stick hits achieve a sharper attack on the transients. Wood mallet hits achieve a similar sound to the wood stick hits but with a rounder more solid sound. Nylon mallets achieve an almost gong like hit, with a fuller lower mid range high end roll off sound.
KEYBOARD MAPPING – CYMBALS
